PayBol

Privacy policy

PayBol by Vohtz. Effective 24 October 2026.

PayBol is an Android app for shops in India. It reads payment notifications from UPI apps on your phone and says the amount out loud. This page explains what the app does with your information. In short: your payments, amounts and names stay on your phone and are never sent to us or to anyone else. The app shows ads through Google AdMob, and that part does use the internet. It is explained below.

Who we are

PayBol is made by Vohtz, based in India. Write to us at support@vohtz.in with any question about this policy.

What PayBol reads on your phone

PayBol uses Android's notification access, which you turn on yourself during setup. It looks only at notifications from these apps: PhonePe, Google Pay, Paytm, BHIM and Navi. It ignores every other app's notifications. For a notification from one of these apps it reads the title and text, works out whether money came in, and finds the amount and, when it can, the sender's name. All of this happens on your phone.

What PayBol keeps, and where

WhatWhyWhere
Each received payment: UPI app, amount, sender name if shown, time, and whether it was spokenToday, Reports, search and replayOn your phone only
A short list of recent UPI notifications that showed an amount but were not announced (the newest 50, with their title and text)So you can see a missed payment and count it with Mark receivedOn your phone only
Your settings: language, speed, minimum amount, quiet hours, which apps are on, summary timeTo work the way you choseOn your phone only

PayBol has no accounts and no sign-in. It does not collect your name, phone number, email address, contacts, bank details, UPI PIN or balance, and it cannot see them.

Files you create

Export payments saves a spreadsheet (.csv) of your payments in a place you pick. Share report sends a summary through an app you pick. PayBol never uploads these files. After you save or share them, they are in your hands and in the app you chose.

Ads and the internet

PayBol is free and shows small banner ads from Google AdMob on the Today, Reports, All payments and Settings screens. It never shows ads on the payment announcement, the full-screen counter view or in notifications. Ads load only while the app is open. To show them, the Google Mobile Ads SDK inside the app connects to Google. This is the only reason PayBol uses the internet.

When an ad loads, Google may collect and use: your phone's advertising ID, your IP address (and the approximate location it gives), device and Android version details, how you interact with ads, and crash and performance information. Google uses this to serve and measure ads, to keep ad systems safe from fraud and to analyse how its SDK performs. Google acts as an independent controller of this data under its own policy: policies.google.com/privacy and how Google uses data in ads.

No payment information is ever given to the ad system. PayBol does not pass amounts, names, notification text or your history to Google or any advertiser.

You control the advertising ID: open Android Settings, then Privacy (or Google), then Ads, to reset it or opt out of ad personalisation. Where a law requires it, PayBol asks for your choice first and keeps an Ad privacy options row in Settings. PayBol is offered in India only.

Permissions the app asks for

Keeping and deleting your data

Your payment history stays on your phone until you remove it. To delete everything PayBol stores, open Android Settings, then Apps, then PayBol, then Storage, and choose Clear storage, or uninstall the app. We hold nothing about you on a server, so there is nothing else to delete. Ad data held by Google is controlled through your Google account's ad settings.

Security

PayBol's data is stored in the app's private storage on your phone and is not backed up to the cloud by the app. Ad requests use encrypted connections. Keep your phone locked, because anyone who can open the app can see your history.

Children

PayBol is meant for shop owners and staff aged 18 and over. It is not directed at children.

Your rights

Because we do not hold your payment data, we cannot give you a copy of it. You can see, export and delete it yourself inside the app and in Android settings. For questions about any other information, or to make a complaint under Indian data protection law, write to support@vohtz.in.

Changes to this policy

If the app starts doing something new with your data, we will update this page and the date at the top before the change reaches your phone.

Not affiliated

PayBol is independent. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by PhonePe, Google Pay, Paytm, BHIM, Navi, NPCI or any bank, and it does not process payments.
